ABOUT

I was born in Oxford and grew up in the picturesque county of Wiltshire in southwest England. I’ve always been drawn to projects with a creative edge, which is why, after starting a mechanics course at college, I quickly realised it wasn’t for me. I switched to carpentry after securing an apprenticeship with Mark Wilkinson Furniture—a company that, at the time, held 16% of the global luxury kitchen market. Their kitchens were sold worldwide, and it was a privilege to work alongside such a talented team of cabinet makers.
My own skills were recognised when I was honoured with the coveted Apprentice of the Year award, in recognition of my attention to detail and craftsmanship. In 2008, I felt ready to open my own workshop, taking with me the experience and precision I had honed during my years at Mark Wilkinson Furniture.
In 2024, my wife, Sarah, and I followed our dream and relocated to the Lot-et-Garonne in France. We love the lifestyle and culture here and are committed to making France our permanent home. It hasn’t been without its challenges in this post-Brexit era (no Irish passports here!), which inspired us to start a YouTube vlog documenting the struggles and triumphs of our move.
When I’m not in the workshop, I enjoy cooking, music, and spending time with family. Sarah and I love exploring the French countryside—when we’re not buried in paperwork!
